A whistle heard around the world
benny blanco co-wrote the 2011 smash that gave Maroon 5 a new sound.
Moves Like Jagger
Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera
In 2011 Maroon 5 teamed with Christina Aguilera on a disco-tinged single built around a whistled hook and a cheeky nod to Mick Jagger’s dance moves.
Co-written and co-produced by benny blanco, “Moves Like Jagger” leaned into rhythm and swagger, and it went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It became one of the defining pop records of its year — and a reminder of blanco’s knack for hooks that feel instantly familiar.
