A one-night story that never ends

The Outfield’s 1986 single became one of the most enduring songs of its decade.

Your Love

The Outfield

The Outfield were an English trio, but their sound was made for American radio. “Your Love,” written by guitarist John Spinks, was the breakout single from their 1986 debut album Play Deep.

Its a cappella opening and soaring chorus took it into the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

The song never really went away. It has found new audiences on every generation of radio and streaming, and it is still sung word-for-word at parties and ballgames.
